Optimum time and maximum environment-friendly solutions...
Intermodal Transportation is a transportation method that is conducted by using the same transport vehicle or container and two or more transportation modes. In this transportation mode, none of the cargoes in the vehicle or container are subject to any handling procedure in mode changeovers.
As Mars Logistics, we offer door-to-door delivery service by using various transportation modes to create added value and reduce their costs with our Intermodal transportation service.
In Intermodal Transportation that we launched with the slogan "Optimum time and maximum environment friendliness,” we perform timely delivery and efficient and environment-friendly logistics. We ensure reduction in carbon emissions and prevent carbon release of 15,8 billion grams per year.
With our Intermodal transportation service we provide our customers with regular transportation, regular loading and regular unloading possibilities. Furthermore, we ensure control and easy follow-up because all wagons are available in the same location and our Intermodal transportation service is less affected by adverse weather conditions compared to other transportation systems.
We are the first company to export to Europe with the wagons produced and registered in Turkey.
How Is Intermodal Transportation Realized?
Trieste - Bettembourg
We realize six round trips per week by trains between Trieste and Bettembourg. In these trips, the cargoes that are picked up from various regions in Turkey are carried by road to Istanbul, İzmir and Mersin seaports. Trailers disconnected from towing trucks are carried to Trieste by RO-RO. Trailers are loaded on wagons by Reach Steaker in Trieste and carried to Luxemburg by railway. Trailers that are connected again to towing trucks at the Bettembourg Multimodal terminal start going to various destinations in Luxemburg, Belgium, the Netherlands, UK, France and Germany by road.
Halkalı - Bettembourg
In the Intermodal transportation system between Turkey and Bettembourg, whose entire organization is managed by Mars Logistics, containers shipped with commodities from various points of Turkey are transported via trains between Halkalı and Bettembourg. After having arrived at Halkalı Terminal and pursuant to completion of customs clearances, the containers continue on train to reach Bettembourg, after having passed Kapıkule customs through the route of Bulgaria, Serbia, Hungary and Austria. Then, containers delivered to their various destinations via roadfreight.
